$200,000 Bond Set for 1st Degree Murder for Deputy’s Fatal Wreck – Video of Suspect’s Court Entrance

August 25th, 2017 by

Thursday afternoon, Circuit Judge Sam Pope set a bond of $200,000 on Samuel Vincent, for the death of Deputy Tim Braden.

The murder charge carries a sentence of 10-40 years or life in prison.

A public defender was appointed to represent Vincent.  Prosecuting attorney Thomas Deen represented the state.

Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigator Bo Norris testified that Deputy Braden was trying to perform a traffic stop on Vincent, approximately 5 miles west of Monticello, on Barkada Road, when the crash occurred.

A bag was found at the scene containing 4-5 ounces of marijuana and over $4,000 cash. A set of scales were also found.

Samuel Vincent, age 24 of Monticello, was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony fleeing, and first-degree murder, following the death of Drew County Deputy Tim Braden.

Deputy Braden initiated a traffic stop involving the vehicle driven by Vincent at 1:35 Thursday morning. Vincent refused to stop and fled.

Both vehicles were subsequently involved in a crash resulting in the death of Deputy Braden and injuries to Vincent.
