“20 for the Future” Returns from Washington D .C.
March 27th, 2014 by iPhone10 local business, community, and economic leaders from Monticello have just returned from Washington DC, where they met with our state’s senators and congressmen, seeking federal support for local projects.
Projects included I-530, I-69, and the need for a new science building at UAM.
MEDC’s Bennie Ryburn III considers the trip a success, “We met with a lot of good people that offered to assist us in the search for funding for the issues and projects that we presented to them. ”
Ryburn added’ “Over all I think we made some great new connections and renewed some old ones and we will continue to push Monticello and Drew County’s needs forward at the National and State levels.”
While in Washington, the group met with Sen. John Boozman, Sen. Mark Pryor, Congressman Tom Cotton, and Congressmen Tim Griffin.
