2 School Buses Collide on 425 North – Update
January 7th, 2014 by iPhoneJust before 7:30 Tuesday morning, 2 school buses collided at the intersection of HWYs 35 and 425, north of Monticello.
A Drew Central bus was turning south from HWY 35 onto 425, when it collided with the luggage carrier underneath the Monticello school bus.
One child (on the Monticello bus) complained of a headache, and was transported to their family doctor by his parents.
Monticello Police officers and an Arkansas State Trooper worked the scene.

SEEMS was called to the scene but did not transport anyone.
My sister was one of the School Bus drivers in this accident. I thank God that NO ONE was seriously injured. I know this probably scared her and shook-up those kids that were riding. But I hope this does not change her mind about wanting to drive the bus. She has been driving for 10 years or better, and nothing like this has ever happened. She have a morning route, an evening route and an after school route that she have to attain to. I just want her to keep her spirits up and continue to drive safe and be careful. Because all those kids that have grown to love and trust you, LOOOOVE them some “Ms Nekie(smile)”! And I love you too! Be careful!! And Stay Blessed!!
I am the student who “complained of a head ache”. i am new to the Monticello school district. as of this year pretty much but i began riding the bus at the end of 2013. mrs. Nikki has been my driver ever since and has been very nice and very safe. i would ride with her then any other if i had a choice. It was just an accident and no one is to blame. I just thank God none of the small children were hurt.
