August 9th, 2018 by iPhoneAt 1:30, the dispatch record keeper confirmed the authenticity of the radio recording, from that morning, which was played next.
The defense told the court that the tape started “halfway through”, to which the prosecution argued that only 4 minutes of the hour-long recording were relevant to the events of and prior to the crashes.
Next was Deputy Brandon Wright, the first non-involved deputy to arrive. Defense attorney Dale West asked Wright multiple times if he and Braden had try to “set up probable cause” on the vehicle. Wright said that there was no radio discussion about probable cause, just that Braden was attempting to stop the silver Charger, and Wright was approaching the area.
MPD officer Chris Owen then testified that he arrived, saw Vincent handcuffed, and read him his Miranda Rights at 2:02 am, which was also played for the jury.
