19 Year Old Dead, 17 Year Old Injured, Following Early Morning Crash, Monday

A 19 year of lost his life, and a 17 was air-lifted to JRMC, following a single vehicle crash on Old HWY 13, Monday morning, around 3:45 am.
Blake Bayird was killed on impact, and a 17 year old male, with an address of HWY 278, was seriously injured, when Bayird’s northbound 2005 Chevy pick-up lost control and overcorrected. The vehicle slid sideways, and collided with trees on the ditchbank.
SEEMS transported the 17 year old to the top of 5 Mile Hill, on HWY 425, where Air-Evac med-flighted him to Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Monticello Fire & Rescue was paged to the scene to extricate the victims from the vehicle.
Arkansas State Police investigate the collision, assisted by Drew County Sheriff’s deputies and Monticello Police.

I still can’t believe it! I can see that smile and how comforting it was its like a nightmare that I keep trying to wake up from. He was a great guy and I pray for his family and friends. And I pray that Scott gets better and for the strength his family needs to get though this time. God is with us all he will help us all through this situation.
