MLive visited with construction ecperts who had studied the lake levee situation, and here are some likelihoods for the required repair.
Both sides of the levee (water side & grass side) will need to be repaired.
There is a 1600 foot “sag” on the south side of the spillway drain, that will need to be back up to specification.
Bringing the level and slope of the levee back to state requirements.
Due to erosion since the 1990s, probable repair would include filter paper, dirt work, rip rap,
The estimated time of repair could range 3–6 months, depending on weather.
The selected contractor has not been confirmed, since documentation with the bid has to be confirmed, but the low bidder was GEI, located in Green Forest, AR, located near Harrison and Batesville.
Only the of official contractor will know if the lake will have to be drained, to any extent.
There is a very strong probability that the levee road will be closed, due to equipment and construction work.
