Saturday Night Home Armed Robbery
May 3rd, 2016 by iPhoneSaturday night, at approx. 10:00pm, the Monticello Police Dispatch received a call of a robbery on East Oakland St.
The victim reported that he was at his home when two black males entered his home and robbed him at gunpoint.
The victim stated that he was dragged outside by one of the suspects and one shot was fired into the victim’s car window.
A small amount of money was taken and the suspects left the scene. The victim then got into his vehicle and gave chase of the suspects, but lost them on Main St.
The identities of the suspects were known by the victim and a manhunt ensued for the pair.
A few hours later, a Drew County Deputy made a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle on highway 425 near Cablevision. When the car pulled over, one person ran from the vehicle and into the woods.
Several police units arrived and began a search for the suspect. The two other occupants, one being the other suspect and one female were arrested and taken in for questioning.
The Arkansas Department of Corrections K-9 tracking team was called and officers set up a perimeter of the area. Shortly after, the final suspect was arrested in a wooded area by the Monticello Criminal Apprehension and Response Team. All suspects are expected to have a first appearance on Tuesday.
