Police Officers Testify at Murder Trial
January 26th, 2016 by Joe BurgessThe next witness, a shopper that called 911, told the court how Woods forced her from the store, and into the car. She described hearing 2 shots, while the couple were inside the Cadillac.
The witness described how she got out of the car, from the drivers side; and he chased her down, and forced her into the passenger side, as she kept repeating, “He’s going to kill me.”
The next witness, a man who confronted Woods, as he was forcing Samantha into the car, told how Woods pulled his weapon, and was threatening Ms. Poole, but never pointed it at the man who came to her rescue.
The 3:00 witness, another female shopper with her children, told how the victim was screaming, when the man re-entered the store, grabbed her by the hair, and forced her into the car. She then told about hearing the gunshot, from the car. She continued telling how she saw the car pull away, and the police arrive and stop it.
The Drew County deputy, that was near the scene, took the witness stand next. He told how he responded to the call, and found the silver Cadillac, attempting to leave on West Trotter St. The deputy then blocked the Cadillac, with a Monticello PD unit behind it.
The deputy’s dash-cam video was then played for the jury, showing Woods pull his gun up, and saw the muzzle flash. The officer saw Woods shoot Samantha an estimated 4-5 times, before the deputy drew and fired his weapon, stopping Woods’ deadly assault, before taking him into custody.
Next to testify was a Monticello officer, who confirmed the authenticity of his car’s dashcam video and audio, which contained the police radio traffic of the shooting. The officer then testified that upon entering the vehicle, he saw the weapon laying on/in a cup holder in the center console.

I pray for the trial to end tomorrow and for the jury to come back swiftly with a verdict of guilty of murder in the 1st degree. And that when the sentencing come up he will be sentenced to death. ( I’m normally against the death penalty but in this case he 100% deserves it)
I pray for the Lord to give you there strength to get through this trial and sentencing of this mad man.
May the Lord bless you and keep you for the rest of your days.
