16 Year Old Testifies in Shooting Trial
October 24th, 2014 by iPhoneAfter the jury returned from lunch, the defense questioned deputy Nichols briefly about the rifle in the back of the victims SUV.
Next to testify was former deputy Steven Mitchell, who also responded to the shooting report. The only previously unmentioned part of Mitchell’s testimony was that the rifle was contained inside of a gun case.
Deputy Brian Slaughter was called to the stand at 1:35. Slaughter told how he arrived at the shooting scene, identified the 3 persons there, read them their rights, and was told by Gibson, “It was self defense.”
Around 1:45, the 16 year old female took the stand, describing how all parties arrived at her address. As testimony continued, it seems she told everyone that someone was driving up & down her road, scaring her.
She told that Gibson was in the yard working on a race car, but that she told the eventual victim that she was alone.
When they arrived, a passenger in the vehicle had a gun, causing her to scream, “He’s got a gun!” even though she said she had been told they “were coming ‘strapped'”.
When she screamed, she told the court, Gibson fired the shotgun into the car.
She also admitted to intimate relations with the 26 year old.
