Heat Advisory Continues for Drew County
June 30th, 2012 by Joe BurgessWith temps forecast to remain over the 100 degree mark, the National Weather Service has continued a HEAT ADVISORY for Drew County, and most other areas.
A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM TONIGHT.
HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL RISE TO 105 DEGREES…OR SLIGHTLY ABOVE ACROSS MOST OF THE STATE.
HIGH HEAT INDICES WILL OCCUR DURING THE AFTERNOON HOURS . HOWEVER, NIGHTTIME TEMPERATURES IN THE MID TO UPPER 70S WILL ADD TO THE DISCOMFORT.
THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
A HEAT ADVISORY MEANS THAT A PERIOD OF HOT TEMPERATURES IS EXPECTED. THE COMBINATION OF HOT TEMPERATURES AND HIGH HUMIDITY WILL COMBINE TO CREATE A SITUATION IN WHICH HEAT ILLNESSES ARE POSSIBLE. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDS…STAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOM…STAY OUT OF THE SUN…AND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.
