1 Woman, 153 Fraudulent Use of Credit Card Charges
October 23rd, 2019 by iPhoneAccording to Monticello Police Chief Jason Akers, a Drew County woman is facing over 150 felony charges after being arrested by the police department.
Juanita Daniels, age 59, of Wilmar was arrested by Monticello Police after a lengthy investigation into an identity theft.
Daniels is charged with 153 counts of fraudulent use of a debit card, and police believe the theft was in excess of $15,000 over a period of months.
She was arrested on Monday on a $25,000 warrant obtained by Detectives.
Identity theft is rapidly becoming the most common incident investigated by law enforcement. Be it from lost debit cards or stolen information used to obtain a debit or credit card, the police department works multiple cases a month of such activity.
People should always shred financial information before throwing it away, and always report lost or stolen cards immediately.
