1 Car, 1 Traffic Stop, 2 DWIs
January 9th, 2009 by Joe Burgess
Officers with the Monticello Police Dept. Friday morning, and charged 2 separate individuals with DWI from the same vehicle.
Dean Wallace, age 29 of Monticello, was seen driving the Mercury SUV south on HWY 425, when they began to attempt the traffic stop. He was charged with DWI II, and driving on a suspended license (for DWI).
When the vehicle stopped, Wallace traded places with the vehicle’s passenger, Lisa Freeman, age 41 of Monticello, who then “had control of the vehicle”. Freeman was at the steering wheel, and turned the key.
She was charged with DWI, carrying a weapon (permit had expired), and obstructing governmental operations.

I thought he was still in jail for domestic battery.
THIS GUY IS NOT TOO BRIGHT IS HE!!!! YOU WOULD THINK HE WOULD HAVE STOPPED WITH THE BATTERY CHARGES…..
How did he get out of jail so quickly? He was in jail before for domestic issues, then again for domestic assault and shooting at people, now this? Pretty apparent something needs to be done to make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone else.
Is this ever going to stop?? Is he going to have to kill or serious hurt someone before he is stopped???
i would like to know how this guy is not in jail. he has multiple charges and most of those charges seem to be aganst women, and shooting at people! now he is out driving drunk! what is it going to take to keep this criminal off the streets? what happens when he decides to beat up another woman and shoot at people and a child accidentally gets shot, or he is driving drunk again and hits someone head-on and someone gets badly hurt.. will the they keep him locked up then? i hope it does’nt come to that.
I very much agree with all the comments about the man, there needs to be a stopping point somewhere BEFORE he or someone else gets killed. BUT after reading these comments, as for this arrest what about the lady, who by choice got in the vehicle with a drunk driver with suspended license then upon being stopped agreed to change places with the driver even though she was drunk also and carrying a weapon with and expired permit. I think both were at fault and both should have done something else than what they did.
My son was injured in 2007 in another Arkansas county by a drunk driver. So yes I am a Mother Against Drunk Drivers!! (MADD)
He now has a rod in his leg and will live with the physical damage the drunk driver left him with.
This indiviual has a long hsitory of physical and mental abuse toward other women that have been involved in his life.
It has taken a long time for his abusive ways to come to light. But my question is, How long will this go on before someone gets killed or serious injuried before he gets locked up for longer than a couple of weeks!!!!
What about all the innocent people he has already hurt and will continue to hurt if he is not stopped!
Does it work in Drew County not what you have done but who you know that keeps you on the street and not locked up???
I VERY MUCH AGREE WITH AGREE/WONDER, SHE NEED TO BE AT HOME.
